I'm sick of everything I've read lately. I'm into the dark academia genre. The Secret History is my all time favourite book, because it had a set of characters with distinct voices. I like the ambigous depressive undertone, but also the fact that they are possessed by beauty. Engage in their own fantasy world to the point they murder. As a reader you're rooting for them even though their actions are immoral.
I like books that pushes the reader to the edge of morality. I like absurdism and existentialism. Crime and Punishment is a classic but a lot of the classics become too archaic and dry for my taste. They're simply "too classical". I need something more contemporary, that still grapples with morality. Something classy but psychological. It doesn't have to be DA, but preferrably something a bit darker.
D'you feel what I'm saying?
I need a good thinkpiece that'll keep me engaged.
