Hello all, been watching the show again and now I’m on the hunt for a similar read. By which I mean something set in a military hospital it’s fine if it’s not as funny as the show, I’m actually more interested in the idea of combat medicine.
I’d prefer fiction but I’m happy to take suggestions for non-fiction. Not really looking for the book that inspired the show.
Looking forward to all the suggestions.

Catch-22…. Oh. This is more “absurdity of war” than “military hospital.”
But, still. It’s very good.
It’s not combat medicine, but there’s a lot of emergency medicine in Cutting for Stone.
Have you read the book of M*A*S*H? It’s written by Richard Hooker
An older one: Captain Newman, M. D. by Leo Rosten. Set in a military psychiatric ward during WWII.
Doctors at War: Life and Death in a Field Hospital by Mark de Rond
Folks over at r/mash might also have some suggestions.
