I'm not sure why Murakami gets so much hate on this when it's kinda expected that he's horrible at writing women. Misogyny is there in some parts, but I feel like since he writes about men having sex with women outside of marriage it is also fair for the women to do the same.

First story was just woman driver vs man driver but also it wasn't inherently sexual towards the end. I found it entertaining to see the guy just accepting how it went. I expected him to try sleeping with the woman driver but surprisingly nothing happened.

Samsa and Scheherazade felt too dystopian and downright repulsive. Maybe it's because I haven't read The Metamorphosis. idk.

Men Without Women I fail to grasp what was the point of it other than a man who has a thing for using sailing reference.

Kino, Yesterday and An Independent Organ felt like they were decent and I see no misogyny in it. I especially liked Kino with the cat being involved.

A question to the ladies: Wouldn't it be retribution for that Dr Tokai to die because of him being lovesick towards a woman? Since he sleeps around with multiple girls to begin with. Why do people see it as "demonizing" the woman?
