Looking for a fast-paced thriller that’s too scary to read with the lights out

Looking for a horror novel that’s too suspenseful to put down. The books I read either tend to lose their steam halfway through or aren’t very scary. The best horror book I’ve read recently was The Terror by Dan Simmons, although there were definitely slow parts and I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was 25% shorter in length. Here’s a list of some of the books I’ve read in past couple years and how I’ve rated them.
