I've been trying to get more into reading non-fiction but I'm exceptionally picky about it. My main ventures into the genre have been mostly related to cults or moral panics – favorites so far have been Unmask Alice by Rick Emerson, about the true story behind the "anonymous" diary Go Ask Alice, and Sex Cult Nun by Faith Jones, a memoir about growing up in the Children Of God cult. I'm also really interested in reading about the Satanic Panic, anything to do with the horror genre, interesting memoirs, and true crime (more as a cultural phenomenon than about specific crimes, but I'm interested in those too!) If you have any recommendations I'd be very grateful!

I have the PERFECT book for you to try next: Black Pill by Elle Reeve. She is the journalist who did the documentary about Charlottesville for HBO and Vice and the book is about all the crazy internet forces that conspired to do Charlottesville and Jan 6. It’s incredible. I couldn’t put it down. Read it in a weekend.
