Hi,
There are two non fiction books that I loved, India: A Portrait by Patrick French and The Fifties by David Halberstam. The reason I enjoyed them so much is that they give what I think of as a top to bottom view of the subject. In The Fifties, Halberstam talks about the Korean War and McCarthyism as well as Lucille Ball, Levittown and the start of McDonald's. You get a view of the time period from many different angles. If you know of other similar books. please let me know. Any era or country would be appreciated.
Thank you!
