Hi all! First off I really appreciate any and all suggestions. I really love stories that involve traveling/journeys/staying in motels. They just give me a really cozy feeling for some reason. I love when the character is in a state of transition and on the move. I find motels really cozy but camping/hotels/van/car works too. Genre doesn’t matter too much, but I’m not a big fantasy or romance fan. I enjoyed the sundown motel by Simone st James and also love the shining by Stephen king. Other non book examples of the kind of vibe I’m going for are life is strange 2 and the left right game story. Thank you all so much in advance!!

If you want some horror in a motel, try Psycho by Robert Bloch. (it follows the caretaker of an isolated motel.) For a more mysterious read, check out Grand Hotel by Vicki Baum. (it’s about various characters and their secrets within the hotel.) Please let me know if you need any other suggestions.

Blush by K L Hearn, deals with the aftermath of severe trauma, living with mental illness, and includes lots of travel. The sequel Bleed also goes into thriller territory, and shows the darker side of trauma. Both available on Kindle Unlimited.

The Armchair Tourist by Anne Tyler. A travel writer who hates traveling, also there is a romance, an eccentric family, and a dog
