I have an 11 year old cousin who LOVES the Warriors books! For reasons that do not matter, magic is a no-go for her in books. She’s very easily scared, so NO horror, absolutely none, not even a HINT or a side story, nothing. Even if it ends well.
She loves animals. “Magical animals are okay, but no like casting spells or spirits or summoning.” There are gray areas for it, it’s hard to quantify haha.
Her family is wonderful and lovely and she is lovely and I want to keep fueling that love of books!

The Undiscovered Self by Carl Jung. It’ll be the best thing you ever did for her.
Are manga and comics ok? Plum Crazy: Tales of a Tiger-Striped Cat is a really lovely manga about regular cats and their family. A Man and His Cat is also great.
The Candymakers by Wendy Mass was one of my fav books around that age. I also recommend Every Soul a Star and 11 Birthdays by her too!
The fact that warriors actually has a lot of gore imagery and in the later books a cat “hell” where the dead villains come back to life, idk if she should continue reading them if she gets scared easily
Percy Jackson is Greek mythology, so not really fantasy or “magic” based. They are meant for that age range, so she might enjoy them.
How about the [City Spies](https://app.thestorygraph.com/series/1133096) series by James Ponti?
The group of authors that write the Warriors books also write other animal kingdom series:
Seekers (Bear cubs)
Survivors (domestic dogs)
Bravelands (lions)
Bamboo Kingdom (pandas)
