A few books/authors I've loved in the last few years:
Yael Van Der Wouden – The Safekeep (just finished this and am REELING)
Ann Marie MacDonald – Fayne!!!!, Fall On Your Knees
Deborah Levy – Everything, but Hot Milk especially
Lily King – Euphoria, Writers and Lovers
Rachel Cusk – Outline Trilogy
Min Jin Lee – Pachinko
Francesca Ekwuyasi – Butter Honey Pig Bread
Abraham Verghese – Cutting for Stone, The Covanent of Water
Julia May Jonas – Vladimir
I am planning to read Daniel Mason's North Woods, but it's just too big to take on vacation (especially since the softcover hasn't been released yet). I have requested Miranda July's All Fours, but I'm well behind in the hold line at the library.
I would love something with ~romance themes~ but not a romance novel in the traditional sense. I love rich descriptions of environment, sweeping family sagas, don't mind a bit of magical realism or historical fiction. I am definitely not a fantasy girl, as much as I wish I could be. I want to be immersed and slack-jawed on the plane! Thanks community <3
