Wanted to read a book with a lot of political intrigue, does not have to be a specific genre. Just wanted to explore if there are such books as I am reading Red Rising and Grace of Kings now, I am just intrigued by all the political stuff happening. Any suggestions will be helpful!
Thanks in advance!

The Goblin Emporer
Practically anything by John le Carre.
The Secret Agent (Conrad).
Count Belisarius (Graves) for something in historical fiction.
Read the “House of Cards” trilogy. The Netflix series is based loosely on it, but the books are set in English Parliament and are far more plausible than the series. If you’ve seen the series, it won’t matter because they are very different. All three are excellent.
Try an old Pulitzer winner. “The Last Hurrah”
A memory called empire. It won the Hugo award for best novel a couple years ago. The author worked for the UN and is a poli-sci professor so has the theory and experience to back it up.
A fun old one is The Prodigal Daughter by Jeffrey Archer
{{The Folding Knife by K. J. Parker}}
The Traitor Baru Cormorant
by Seth Dickinson
Infomocracy by Malka Older, a newly published book. It kind of made me a bit stressed out because the politics are just too real.
The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin, a great classic
A Country of Ghosts by Margaret Killjoy, very similar to Le Guin’s writing but with a more accessible writing style.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes by Yoshiki Tanaka is one of my favorite books. It’s a very readable space opera but politics are often a main point. It charts the changes in the politics of two cultures who have been at war for centuries.
One is a democratic empire sliding into fascism, one is a fascist state that’s been losing is teeth, and there’s a small third country deeply wishing to keep both at war because if either won they would likely set their eyes on the last remaining nation.
