Hi, book Tok has been really making me feel left out as a male and searching for any sort of adult dark fantasy that doesn't hold back with a male protagonist is coming up astonishingly with nothing. Any recommendations? I don't want a romance book but it seems like there's a huge gap of male authors afraid of approaching the topic, and then others which treat them like cliche James bond one nighters

The Novice [Edit: Not Romance as far as I know] is a Murder-Mystery Paranormal book in which the Main Male Character is a Blacksmith Apprentice who can summon a demon. It is in the same area as Sherlock Holmes in detective work, but it’s a series. It has good reviews for it. It starts slow before picking up in pace.
The first law series by Joe Abercrombie
The bound and the broken series by ryan cahill
Anything by john gwynne
The problem is you’re looking for advice from book tok. Most popular fantasy on there is actually romantasy, not classic fantasy.
I wouldn’t consider any of these “dark,” but they’re all good. They all have male main characters and are intended for adults.
Not on Earth:
-The Name of the Wind
-The Way of Kings
-The Lies of Locke Lamora
On Earth:
-American Gods
Bonus Sci Fi Recommendation that sometimes feels like epic fantasy:
-Red Rising
Here are a few dark Fantasy suggestions.
– First Law (Most Popular on Reddit)
– Broken Empire (First Person, Unlikeable Protagonists)
– Powder Mage Trilogy (Flintlock Fantasy)
– King’s Dark Tidings (Overpowered Protagonists)
– The Burning (African setting, incomplete trilogy)
– Gentlemen Bastards (Found Family, Heist Book)
– Conan (OG Pulp Sword & Sorcery)
– The Black Company (First Modern Grimdark fantasy)
– Dungeon Crawler Carl (Also popular on Reddit, LitRPG, great audiobook narration)
– Dresden Files (Urban Fantasy)
