TLDR: looking for a tame grim dark high fantasy novel. Please tell me what your recommendation is about so I can see if I want to look deeper into it or not. Thank you.
I read somewhere that a song of ice and fire has like 200+ moments where there's sexual abuse of some sort. That is just far too much for me. Like, scenes or rape, or sexual violence or things like that, when it's not consensual or is abusive in some way, is too much for me.
Also, things like a bad guy amputating the genitals of a character is also too much for me. With that said, I usually can stomach horrible deaths. Death by fire, by torture, etc.
I also can't really stomach things like dogs dying, or cats, or other pets. Idk why. I can handle a deer dying because it was hunted for food, but a full blown "they killed the dog and showed it's severed head to his owner" kind of vibe Is waaaay too much for me.
I basically want something that is really well written, with amazing dialogs, and a really cool world building, that manages to stay in the grim dark world (so no lord of the rings or the like) without going too far into it. Idk if that makes sense. Basically, like a tamed grim dark high fantasy novel.
So yeah. That would be cool. Please give me.a short synopsis with your recommendations.
