Halloween is coming up so I wonder, which book has promoted the biggest physical reaction from you? The latest book to scare me was a certain scene in How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix.
Probably Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant or Duma Key by Stephen King. I definitely have a fear of the ocean lol.

I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara – about the Golden State Killer. Spooked me so much because it’s a true story.

Pet Sematery, probs. maybe The Exorcist.
Tho, I have to say that Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix is the last one to scare me.
My most visceral reaction was to Tender is the Flesh, but I’m not entirely sure I’d classify it as scary, per se.

Might be situational for me because the woods just got dark at my house lol, but Salem’s Lot by Stephen King. Had to put it down until cozy christmas light season so no spoilers, y’all.

For me it’s I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Ian Reid. I couldn’t put it down but it scared the hell out of me.

An oldie but Harvest Home by Thomas Tryon.
Pet Cemetery still scares me decades later.
