Hey all, was just wondering if I could get some help. Often when I finish a book (and I’m not fully hooked mid series) I get this kind of inertia when I try and pick the next read. I’ve got a big tbr list (who hasn’t?) and I’ve picked out 11 that I want to read currently (mood reader but picky). I’ll drop them here, can you convince me to start one of them before I spend the next week or two deliberating with myself? (Oh I tried random number generators but they don’t work for me, I need some good reasoning and hype to get me going!)
- Stormlight 4
- Leviathan Wakes
- Poppy War 2
- Great Gatsby
- She Who Became the Sun
- Under the Whispering Door
- Station Eleven
- All Quiet on the Western Front
- The Goblin Empire
- The Road
- We Have Always Lived in the Castle
Ps. Does anyone else have this problem? What works for you?
edited the list bc Call Me By Your Name isn’t the mood rn

When I can’t decide what to read next, I’ll either go by which one has been on my to-read list the longest, or which one is shortest. If I have a hard time getting in to what I’ve chosen to read, I typically try to read at least 100 pages of a book before deciding if I’ve changed my mind about wanting to read it after all.
I haven’t read all the books on your list, but The Great Gatsby is short so it’s a really fast read. I personally did not like The Road very much. I liked All Quiet on the Western Front.
Well, I’ve read four of those books and tried to read a fourth, so: 3 is out because I hated it, 10 is out because it’s just a dark subject. So that leaves 4, 6, and 8, and I think 6 is the best.
I often have book hangovers, they’re the best/worst.
