I used to chew through books like a monster when I was younger, but I stopped when I finished the percy Jackson series. As much as I like to read, I'm super picky when it comes to stories. So, I'd appreciate some Ideas on good books!
I lean more towards sci fi than fantasy, and like humor and action, but I'm not opposed to trying something different. I find stuff like Futurama, Fallout, Die Hard, Doom and Resident Evil to be pretty representative of my tastes. I've played DnD before and had lots of fun, and I read through all of Dungeon Meshi recently and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. So, if anyone has any recommendations, I'd love to hear them!

Why not check out LitRPGs? It seems like you like a lot of video games, so why not try a book with gamelike elements? They’re pretty much all designed to be fun and fast-paced reads.
Lots of post-apocalyptic stuff too, which you also seem to vibe with. There’s Dungeon Crawler Carl, pretty much universally acknowledged as one of the best in the genre, my own series Apocalypse Parenting, and many others.
You also might like Whispering Crystals. It’s more “portal fantasy,” but in a very Hunger Games-esque way.
