Horror novellas? Similar to Turn of the Screw. Could be newer or could be literary classic, I’m open minded. I get overwhelmed by something like a Stephen King 800 page book.

**The Imago Sequence** by Laird Barron is a collection nine short stories – very Lovecraftian cosmic horror.

The Willows by Algernon Blackwood – classic, old cosmic horror.
A Short Stay in Hell by Stephen Peck – newer and great. The horrors of math.
The Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King – King was able to keep this one down to ~100 pages somehow.
Night of the Mannequins by Stephen Graham Jones – psychological, suburban horror.
The Woman in Black by Susan Hill – a great ghost book.
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson – classic, holds up well.

Joe Hill’s **Strange Weather** is an excellent collection of novellas that you can dip in and out of. I also recently read and enjoyed **Bloom** by Delilah S Dawson, which is a short, sharp read about a woman who becomes infatuated with one of the sellers at a local farmer’s market who seems to live a perfect, aspirational cottagecore lifestyle. I’ve also recently been enjoying novellas from Tenebrous Press, who publish some really interesting and offbeat stories.
