      What is OAT? There is no character limit that would necessitate using that in the title. I genuinely don’t know.

      Alright, off the top of my head;

      1. If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin
      2. The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
      3. A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki
      4. On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong
      5. Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
      6. A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon
      7. Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Alison
      8. The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
      9. If You Come Softly by Jacqueline Woodson
      10. Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston

      At least, those are the books that have had the most profound effect on me. Also, when it comes to Baldwin, Morrison, and Hurston – every single thing they have produced is a favourite of mine. I just picked what came to my head first for this list.
