Was watching a show and they were talking about Henrietta Lacks.. I am 31 and spent the good portion of my life in healthcare and knew NOTHING about her. There is something seriously wrong with that. I want to learn more, I want to be informed. Not to make this political, but THIS is why we say black lives matter. So if anyone could direct me to more black history books I would be so grateful ❤️
Also – absolutely no hate here – if you're not helping me or saying something nice, take your racist thoughts somewhere else. Thanks!

[Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments: Intimate Histories of Riotous Black Girls, Troublesome Women, and Queer Radicals](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/1c2a7587-3d1d-4c17-9634-f744423d034c) by Saidiya Hartman
The Warmth of Other Suns is an amazing book about the Great Migration by a genius historian, Isabelle Wilkerson. We Were Eight Years in Power is a history about the Reconstruction, one of the most important/forgotten parts of US and Black history. How The Word is Passed is another reckoning. Anything by James Baldwin or Frederick Douglass is super powerful. A smaller and weirder, but really fascinating book is Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments. I hope some of these are of interest to you!
Thomas Sowell has many to choose from.
