I loved both of those books, I've never read anything like them. I mean, I've read fantasy before, but nothing that just felt like reading a hug. I actually cried at the end of Bookshops and Bonedust. I know the genre is called 'cozy fantasy' and I've done some googling, but I would like to know what people's favorites are.

I will also note, I was not expecting a queer romance in those books (or any romance at all, actually), and it was a delightful surprise — usually as a lesbian I have to seek out fiction with queer relationships so to have one just sort of crop up naturally was a delight, so yeah, if you have any that would fulfill that as well, that would be great!.

To be honest, it doesn't even necessarily need to be 'cozy fantasy'… just something that feels the same.

    Thanks!

    1. You’ll love Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne – she said she was inspired to write it by Legends and Lattes. And it’s a queer cozy fantasy!

For other cozy fantasies, try The Very Secret Society Of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna, The House In The Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, and Under The Whispering Door, also by TJ Klune.

House in the Cerulean Sea and Under The Whispering Door both by TJ Klune.

House in the Cerulean Sea is about an orphanage for magical children being audited by a government official.

Under the Whispering Door is about moving on after death.

    3. The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers is the cozy sci-fi counterpart. About an eclectic crew of a spaceship that builds jump gates. Also has a sapphic relationship.
