I am in a vampire mood again, but my biggest issue with vampire books is that everything is too Twilight-y where the female protagonist is a mortal human with her hunky dark and mysterious vampire love interest.
Like, that’s nice and all, but I really am looking for something akin to Julie Kagawaga’s Immortal Rules with a female protagonist who is a vampire and her human romance interest. I absolutely adored that series even with all of its flaws.
So, surely, she isn’t the only one to write such a great book.
So, please, Reddit, suggest me some vampire books with:
- a female vampire and a male human character
( I am also good with LGBTQ+ recommendations, so a male vampire with a male human love interest is fine too, or any LGBTQ+ combination, really. I just am bored of Male Vampire and Human Girl combo)
- there must be blood sucking!
(I don’t want to read a vampire book where the vampire is just a person with fangs and maybe an allergy to the sun and garlic.)
I am 18+ so adult book recs are fine, but please warn me if they are ghost chili pepper spice level so I know what I am getting into and am not disappointed when the plot doesn’t, well, plot.
That said, I primarily read YA because I enjoy the coming of age angst, the snappiness of the prose, and the more cleaner narrative.
And I really enjoy vampire books, so if you read my post and are like “okay, but you MUST read this one even though it’s a human girl with a male vampire”, then please, go ahead and suggest anyway lol.
