The series names and numbers are confusing knowing nothing about them. Some say to skip some of them and read somewhere in the middle first it seems. I’ve bought Guards! Guards! But I don’t want to spoil others if that’s a thing with his work.

Maybe try good omens. The book he did with Neil gaiman. That could be a nice place to start before the series to see his writing style

Choose the topic you want to read about, such as witches or death or ancient civilizations, and then follow along the series path. I’m not an expert but I just finished Mort and it was a good start.
You won’t get spoilers, Guards Guards is the first Watch book, so it’s a pretty good place to start. Equal Rites is also a good starting point, it’s about the witches. The general rule of thumb is just that The Light Fantastic is a bit rough and out of character with the rest of them, so circle back around to that one instead of starting there.
I personally started with *Mort* and then read *Going Postal*. I enjoyed both, but I was particularly drawn to *The Wee Free Men*. That’s the series I wanted more of, so I read the entire Tiffany Aching arc. After that, I read *Guards! Guards!* which I loved and I think is a great starting point. It’s really up to you and what mood you’re in really.
