Hi all, i want to read about the psychology of America and how they differ so much from everywhere else in the world in terms of gun laws/the ideology around them and the constitution, OTT conspiracy theories. One read Doppelganger (loved!) and i have The Weirdest People In The World but i want something specifically about America

Maybe not exactly what you’re looking for, but maybe check out American Nations by Colin Woodard.
It talks about different areas (categorizing them as nations in the sense of a group of people) of American and how the attitudes of the original settlers of each nation still exist today.
For example, it talks about Puritan work ethic in New England. And it talks about how the South was settled by aristocratic slave owners. Or how Appalachia was mostly settled by Irish and Scottish settlers who were suspicious of big government, etc.
