Roadtrip/adventure books… idk how to describe it, I really enjoyed that one part in never let me go by kazuo ishiguro when they went on a trip together… I'm currently reading the remains of the day because I heard it's quite similar but it's just a tad boring and slow paced but i haven't finished yet LOL… 🙁 I guess I'm looking for a sort of story where preferably two main characters with a kinda strained relationship go on a road trip together and they work it out somehow(or not, it can have an unhappy/bittersweet ending too idm) preferably have some sort of plot? (Not a book but I really enjoyed the secret life of Walter Mitty so I'm looking for something similar!)

Espionage/mystery thriller WITHOUT romance… I don't have any examples because I haven't found any ones I liked but I guess something like the bourne identity just without romance?
