I have never been so in awe of and inlove with a book as I have with The Book of All Loves by Agustín Fernández Mallo, translated by Thomas Bunstead. The prose is so breathtaking and exquisite, run-ons and minute details and all (I love the minute details, in fact). The aphoristic segments consisting of the dialogue and the little "encyclopedic" entries are even more beautiful; I genuinely swooned in places as I was reading some of the dialogues between the two lovers. This book really is a beautiful presentation of love in its myriad forms, tobd in such aesthetically-pleasing writing.,. it almost feels wrong that I'm reading it alone instead of with a lover. At any rate, if anyone has read this book or has suggestions for similar books, I'd love to know!
