Have you read *Till We Have Faces* or the Ransom Trilogy by C.S. Lewis? They tend to be lesser-known books (but some of the best)!

It’s an older one, but the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde. Hell, anything by Jasper Fforde in all honesty.

Based on that list I’d say Naomi Novik’s Temeraire might hit the spot.

Newbury & Hobbes Investigations series, by George Mann. Alternate history steampunk secret service series in Victorian London. My favorite book series.
The Clockwork Century series, by Cherie Priest. Steampunk and Zombies set in Civil War era America.
The Invisible Library series, by Genevieve Cogman. Story about a mid level employee working for an inter-dimensional Library as a book thief. Each world in the multiverse has a different level of magic and technology, as well as different levels of Order and Chaos.

Seems like it’d be good to try to lessen the white identity politics. How about Octavia Butler, Louise Erdrich, NK Jemisin?

Well we have a lot of the same authors in common so I will suggest the Charles Lennox series. They are cozy historical mysteries.

The twilight movie sparked my interest to read the book. One i finished that series, I jumped to Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. Literally, because the cover looked similar to the red ribbon of one of the twilight books (can’t remember off the top of my head). Bitten is what got me hooked and addicted to reading, and there are 13 books in the series and not all the same perspectives either, so it’s never boring. Plus, there are short stories made into multiple anthologies.
Maybe try the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness, too.

Mhh… maybe something from…
… Ilona Andrews (i think my fav series is called ‘Kate daniels’) – very independent fmc works as Hunter in a magical world, romance is just a small part
… Michelle Raven (Ghostwalker) – Shape Shifter Romance. Every book is a different couple but with one big plot through all of them. + bit spicy
… Lynn Viehl (darkyn) – Vampire romance + bit spicy
… Lara Adrian – also Vampire Romance + bit spicy

one outlander diana g., i like both richelle mead and used to read stephine meyer honstly her host was the best one, and outlander is one of the better books ive ever read, for wizards look into the dresden files if you have ever seen buffy the vampire slayer they are narrated by james marsters the man who plays spike and wonderfully done as he typically does stage acting originally and has done many shakespear plays. try some sherlock homes or some dirk gently for detective but dresden is good for that as well. i just found another similar to some of the ones youve mentioned called halfway to the grave for some vampire hunter falls in love with a vampire. you cant go wrong with a more adult vampire book like empire of the vampire book two should be out next year.
