Suggest me a book about public shaming/cancel culture/people being exposed for large lies. I just read Yellowface by R.F. Kuang and was fascinated by the idea of a public downfall/a protagonist’s lies crumbling in a way that devastates his or her life.

not fiction, but Jon Ronson wrote a whole book about this called So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed.
_I Have Some Questions For You_, Rebecca Makkai.
It’s not the only thing going on in this book, but a major theme is contrasting the public backlashes we see now with hisyoric systemic injustice. It ain’t comfortable and there are parts that might set your blood boiling, so buyer beware, but it made me sit with my assumptions in a satisfactory way.
Admission by Julie Buxbaum is a fiction story that was obviously inspired by the Lori Loughlin scandal.
Not a book, unfortunately, but the movie Tár is brilliant on this topic.
[‘A Long Way Down’](https://www.waterstones.com/book/a-long-way-down/nick-hornby/9780241969953) by Nick Hornby has several protagonists, but one (Martin) has this as his backstory, having lost his job as a TV presenter following a scandal.
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
