Hey, non-reader here who is looking to start. Last book I read was water for elephants and it was many years ago. I loved that book, couldn’t put it down.
Can anyone give me 1 good suggestion? I feel overwhelmed trying to select something. Below I’ll list the suggestions friends/coworkers have made.
A thousand broken pieces – Tillie Cole
It ends w us – collene hoover
The women- kristen hannah
The couple next door – sherry lapina
Verity – Colleen hoover
The coldest winter ever:
The housemaid
long shot or before I let go by Kennedy Ryan
remains of the Day book Kazuo Ishiguro

It would help us to know more about you so we can recommend something that you will connect with. Age, gender, married/parent/single, general geographic location, ethnicity, hobbies, career/area of study, favorite movies, tv shows, games, etc. **Not all of these things, just something more to go on to *help us help you.***
From the list your friends gave, the only one I can recommend in good conscience is The Women (and possibly Remains of the Day, although I’ve not read it.) The Women is historical fiction like Water for Elephants, and both focus on female characters, love, and overcoming adversity.
Without knowing exactly where your tastes lie or what you’re in the mood for, I would highly recommend Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff. Without giving too much away, it’s a really compelling and emotional story about a married couple who were hiding big secrets from each other. Really beautifully written, can’t recommend it enough!
