My son (9) has the biggest imagination, love creating with Legos and building with sticks, rocks and mud outside. He loves animals, plays hockey and just got permission to start playing video games.
My son has ADHD so to him reading is basically torture. They now and then I find something he'll stomach. I usually have to negotiate with 30 minutes of reading so he can draw, play with Lego or video games, etc.
I love who he is. Not trying to change him. I just grew up loved reading as a kid. I grew up poor so it was the best way to imagine myself in different adventures. Even now as a single mom I try to read whenever I can. Reading is actually a big part of my career.
He admitted liking Road Dahl's line up and Kate DiCamillo's books. I had got him sets of their works.
But he's almost done. I'm wondering if there's anything else I should try.
