Ive never read house of leaves but i heard it can be intense at times and i have a upcoming book report in which i most likely cant read house of leaves or dont have time to read all of it. I want to choose a book in the same genre as house of leaves but is shorter and school appropriate.
You might want to ask why a book like house of leaves? I am just curiose of how my class will reacted to a strange/unique book like it, that is if we have to present which we may or may not.
I still want to read a book like house of leaves, and yes i forgot what type of book house of leaves is.
What would you suggest because im looking for ideas to think about along with books suggestions.

*The Thief of Always* by Clive Barker
The Raw Shark Texts may be what you’re looking for. It’s similar to House of Leaves in that it’s quite meta at times and uses letters, words and numerics as a form of “concrete poetry” to visually show or suggest something throughout the novel.
It’s a different genre from House of Leaves though, it’s a thriller/adventure novel. I just recently finished it a few months back and really enjoyed it.
There are also unchapters which are “lost” chapters written by the author, Stephen Hall, and hidden online or in the real world. There’s still a number of them which haven’t been discovered.
