I ordered a second book in a duology from an Indie bookstore because I had a gift card. I flew through the first book in the duology in two days (The Shepard King duology if you’re curious) and my copy of book two won’t be here for a week. So I went to barnes and noble and got a copy to read in the mean time. If I read and tab the copy from B&N can I return the indie one to B&N? Both have the same ISBN, but I’m unsure if bookstores have a way to tell the difference. I still have my receipt and will be in the time frame for returns. Also,
I could just read it super carefully to not crack the spine and return the one from B&N if they can tell the diffeeence, but would prefer not do that for comfort of reading. Thanks!
