My family is getting together over Christmas in Hawaii and we're hoping to find a book to read together. The trouble is, I would say we're pretty different readers…
-My great aunt (70sF)- she's read and liked the Crazy Rich Asians series, subscribes to Vanity Fair, and listens to NPR.
-My mom (50sF)- she reads primarily character driven stories featuring women, think Reese's Book Club. Enjoyed Fourth Wing, but usually doesn't do violence.
-My husband (30sM)- he primarily reads science fiction and fantasy, but is open to other genres if the writing is good. He hates illogical plot devices.
-Me (30sF)- I'll read anything if it's good- western, sci fi, biography, historical fiction, romantasy, horror, memoir, nonfiction, you name it, if it's not religious I'll read it.
I've suggested The Women by Kristin Hannah to both my mom (read it) and husband (TBR), and I read Lies and Weddings by Kevin Kwan earlier this year, so both of those are out.
Any suggestions?
