Halloween is not too far in the future. Feel free to suggest any book fitting for the month of October; be it horror, thriller, gruesome, haunting, or anything suitable for the Halloween vibe. 👻
Not a book, but I just read the short story “Bloodchild” by Octavia E. Butler. I love sci-fi but I don’t read a lot of horror. This story was easily the most horrifying work of fiction I’ve read by far.

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas is a great, YA fantasy, fall read, centered around LGBTQ characters and the Day of the Dead.
The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware is a spooky mystery with a tarot card reading psychic main character.

Witch Light by Susan Fletcher. It’s not really a spooky story more a sad one about witch trials and Scottish history, but it’s beautiful. For chilling books Melmoth by Sarah Perry or Michelle Paver’s horror stories
