Hey everyone – a bit at a loss here, so I was hoping to pick your minds. My book club has decided to steer into something with what they said contains more substance (so a title that would spark discussions about important topics – e.g. similar to Ursula K. LeGuin’s “The Dispossed” touching on societal issues).
The problem is, however, that I’m the resident sci-fi/fantasy/horror nerd in the group and I’d like to recommend something that would tick the above box without a risk of it having already been read by someone.
So, if you have any ideas – please let me know! (I’ll update the post on what was selected by our group in a couple of days if you’re interested.) Any suggestions are welcome – thank you in advance!
(And worst case scenario, I’ll hopefully have a great selection of titles to go through myself!)

*Way Station* by Clifford Simak. It’s about a man setting up an intergalactic truck stop in the Wisconsin wilderness and his interactions with the aliens that pass through, including their cultures, their stories, and what their science predicts for humanity.
