I’m not worried about the occasional curse word, but want to avoid racial slurs and graphic descriptions of violence. I just finished Toni Morrison’s Beloved and loved it, but it was hard finding alone time to listen!
Looking for something riveting enough to hold my attention during chores – it doesn’t need to be particularly enriching, haha.
Other books I’ve recently enjoyed:
Piranesi – Susanna Clarke
Damnation Spring – Ash Davidson
Pet – Akwaeke Emezi
Station Eleven – Emily St. John Mandel
The Sentence – Louise Erdrich
Under the Whispering Door – TJ Klune
All Systems Red (Murderbot Diaries #1) – Martha Wells
