Mini rant/discussion
I feel like sometimes the marketing of books is just so so wrong that it works against the books to me.
For example I avoided Lessons in Chemistry because it felt like based on all the influencers, Instagram ads, and word of mouth it seemed to me that it was a contemporary romance which I’m not a huge fan of most of the time but then I finally randomly pick it up one day and like 20% of it is a romance the the rest of the book is just about being a single mom, being a woman in a male dominated space, not compromising yourself for a job and what family really means. Also it deals with surviving with PTSD and healing from trauma.
Now how is it in all of the talk I heard of the book none of that was mentioned!
What book do you think got completely the wrong marketing?

I don’t really book advertising at all to be honest. My knowledge mostly comes from user generated tags and reviews which seem to be accurate enough.
