I read a lot of fantasy and lately I am getting pretty sick of the way many of them escalate to ridiculous levels. Somehow its always either the whole world that's about to get destroyed, the whole universe or it gets revealed later on that the whole plot is part of a bigger conspiracy, etc. I am also a bit sick of stories that are too bleak, where only bad stuff happens and the heroes are always on their backfoot getting outsmarted, outmanouvered, etc.
Could you give me a suggestion for a book, that is a bit more on the lighthearted side? Im looking in the direction of a bunch of people going on an adventure together with likeable characters and clever dialogue.
