The first chapter of "A little life" is very beautifully written, and I love that you can feel their friendship through the page.
However, after that it becomes so, so, depressing. Almost like Yanagihara googled, "Top 10 most traumatic things a human could go through", and decided to shoehorn in all 10 plus a couple more to make it extra miserable. In the end, I didn't even finish the book because it was obvious Jude's quality of life would NOT improve AND, I was seeing interviews of her saying she did no research on mental health!!
ANYWAYS, sorry for the paragraph on my thoughts of the book. It just annoys me soooo much.
It would also be a huge bonus if this book was told from an academic setting, as I'm going to university soon and I love reading books that I can relate to at a specific time in my life! One that comes to mind is "The secret history", though I've already read that.
Thank you!!!
