I used to read this genre a lot when I was younger… Books with a real or alternate history historical setting as well as fantasy elements.
Some examples of what I’m thinking of are the Gemma Doyle series and the Diviners series by Libba Bray, Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare, or the Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman. Anything more recent like that?
I’d prefer a European setting with 18th to early 20th century but other time and place settings are also fine. I did a Google search but I’d read pretty much everything that came out a while ago, so if you suggest older stuff I’ve most likely already read it.
Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention Justina Ireland. I like books similar to hers as well.
