    Hello! 👋

I have an almost 4 week old baby, and while caring for him is not always easy, it does allow me quite a bit of time for some sedentary hobbies. I have mainly been binge-watching tv shows, but I believe the time has come to turn to reading more (after a very dry year, reading wise!)

So, could you suggest some great books (or even a great series!) that can help me to get back into reading and keep me company during baby feeds and naps?

I really miss being sucked into a great book that doesn’t involve pregnancy, parenting or baby care!

Thanks in advance for your input 😊

Depends what you like and what you’re looking for. Three options that popped into my mind:
      – “The Guest List” by Lucy Foley (thriller)
      – “Romantic Comedy” by Curtis Sittenfeld (contemporary fiction)
      – “The God of the Woods” by Liz Moore (mystery/lit fiction)

These books are all engaging reads that snapped me out of slumps over the past few years! The first two are definitely not about to win any literary awards, but they’re fun, so who cares?

    2. I’d suggest a short-story style book you could pick up easily. I always like David Sedaris-witty, biting, and mostly focuses on his crazy family. Try Naked, Me Talk Prety One Day- his earlier works or possibly something more recent like When You Are Engulfed in Flames or Calypso
