I've had my share of mental health challenges, and I've often turned to books during difficult times (psychology books got me through my last breakup) – they give me new ideas and generally make me excited about the world.
However, recently I've been feeling the opposite: I start reading, but I am not able to focus. My mind won't shut up, and "only me and my book π" has turned into "only me (my mind) and my book πΆβπ«οΈ."
What I've figured out for myself is that comics somehow help me focus more effectively than traditional books, perhaps because they engage my mind differently and distract me from my anxious thoughts (I googled and found some regular books in comic format, which was super helpful).
Can anyone resonate? Would love to hear how you all are handling this.
