To be clear, to me a Halloween book is different than a horror or scary book. I'm looking for books that feel like drinking hot cider while sitting on a pile of brown leaves in the middle of a pumpkin patch while kids are marching past in costumes. (However I'm not excluding scary books from this, they're great, just not the biggest requirement. I read something wicked this way comes last year and it was pretty perfect.)
Bonus Points:
-It feels Like Over the garden wall
-It feels like a Halloween episode of scooby doo
-There is some level of Fantasy (especially surrealism? I think)
-Halloween takes place during the book
But to be clear I'm looking to cast a wide net so recommend away. Even if it doesn't hit all the BP's.
