As the title says, I want a grounded book, doesn’t necessarily have to be “realistic” I just don’t care for high fantasy/sci-fi. Like for example if you were to recommend a zombie book, I would not really gravitate to the “rise from the dead” stories, I’d much prefer it if it was due to a virus, mushrooms, a weaponized nano-virus, or even toxic waste. Something that is super unlikely but possible. I’m not sure why but I like stories that bring me dread/make me sad haha!

I have no specific genre preferences because I just started reading for enjoyment again, and don’t really know what I like yet, but I can tell you the two books I’ve read so far (that I really liked) were |Fahrenheit 451|, and |We Were Liars|
I really enjoy when authors repeat words, and phrases, like in |The Silence of the Lamb| (but I never finished the book)

I’ll say this now, some books are just a bit too much for me, to the point it makes me feel sick, (haven’t read many, and I only watched a summary video because I was too scared to read it) like, |I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream|. I could not even listen to a person summarizing the book without feeling so much dread and sickness. I think what did it for me was Benny, i just can’t listen to the story without feeling really shitty and gross when he comes up. I get that’s the point of the book but like idk man I just can’t handle it! I just feel so damn bad for him, that it causes me pain! 🙁

    Thank you!! <3

Ps. I like it when it’s open ended, like I’m reading a small part of a characters life.
