I want to preface this post by saying that I'm not against any whimsical, toxic or idealistic relationships in fiction, which are perfectly valid, but I have real struggles when it comes to reading romance nowadays.
The thing is that current popular romance novels (except maybe Emily Henry or Sally Rooney who are quite liked by my most trustworthy sources of recommendations) don't appeal to me a lot since I'm catering to more down to earth, realistic romances as I grow up.
Also, the need has been awakened since I watched one of Emmie's (the booktuber) weirdly specific book recommendations video in which she recommended "From Little Tokyo with love" after someone requested something along the lines of this post.
Anyways, I would like to know about your recs because I want to open myself more to the genre. So, if anyone has any books, they are welcome!
AND Of course, you are absolutely free to add romances from any age group, with LGBTIQ+, POC, etc… representation/authorship, all kinds of recommendations are welcome.
