Ever since I started reading at the age of 15, I've had people make fun of me or get angry for the books I were reading. I had my classmate laugh at my face when she saw me reading Tom Sawyer when I first started, my literature teacher raised her voice when I wanted to talk about Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" after class, telling me to "read more Georgian literature!". My grandma was especially really annoying me, every time when she saw me reading something that wasn't a Georgian literature, she would keep arguing with me on and on. The thing was that I wasn't reading quote and quote "stupid books", it was classics like Dostoevsky and Ray Bradbury, some YA novels here and there, in general mixed genres.
