I'm a huge Donna Tartt fan and recently read (and was utterly blown away by) Kala by Colin Walsh- the reviews of which say it's perfect for fans of Tartt and Tana French.
I've not read any of French's books, l've not even really heard of her before so what's a good one to start with?
Or equally any recommendations for similar-style books-poetic prose, really dense and rich settings/characters/ backstories, heavily detailed with a kind of languorous slowness, sense of weirdness, the kind of plot that sprawls all over the place but tightens at the end in a way that seems almost magic.
The longer and more complex the better ! I love books where you become fully immersed in every way like I have done with Tartt's writing and with Kala.
