I enjoy mostly sci-fi, fantasy and regular literature. Recently I liked educated, for whom the bells tolls, wheel of time, stardust, Nárnia.
I also liked some biographies like the guy from Nike and Starbucks. Also loved admirable new world Aldous Huxley but the island not so much. Also love everything from Ursula le guin.
Didn’t like 3body problem or station lost.
Might seem a bit random I guess…and unrelated with Shackleton

The Terror by Dan Simmons. Historical fiction with a dash of fantasy in an Endurance-like environment.
I also loved _Endurance_. Have you already read {{The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder by David Grann}}?
*Kon-Tiki* is a 1948 book by Norwegian explorer and writer Thor Heyerdahl. The book chronicles Heyerdahl’s incredible journey across the Pacific Ocean on a hand-built raft named Kon-Tiki. The expedition, which took place in 1947, aimed to prove Heyerdahl’s theory that ancient South American civilizations could have crossed the Pacific and settled in Polynesia using similar methods and materials.
If you enjoy true-life adventure stories that blend exploration, cultural history, and the sheer determination of the human spirit, *Kon-Tiki* is a must-read. Thor Heyerdahl’s vivid storytelling and detailed account of the journey make the book an engaging and inspiring read. The narrative is gripping, full of the challenges and triumphs faced by the crew, and offers a fascinating look at what it takes to test a daring hypothesis through real-world exploration.
For those who love adventure and exploration, Kon-Tiki stands as a testament to human curiosity and the lengths people will go to prove their theories.
If you liked *Endurance* then you should try *The Empty Quarter* by Wilfred Thesiger.
Maybe Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
*The Making of the Atomic Bomb*, by Rhodes
*Into Thin Air*, by Krakauer
*In the Kingdom of Ice*, by Sides
You’d probably love James Clavell’s *Shogun* (or maybe you’ve already read it).
In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick
For some reason, I *love* shipwreck stories. This book is nonfiction about the ship that Moby Dick was based on. There is also a movie you could watch after reading it that was a fairly good adaptation. It even wove in the Moby Dick link.
Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire seems like something you would enjoy
Since you liked Educated, I also recommend checking out Ruth Wariner’s memoir, The Sound of Gravel.
Endurance is one of my favorite books! Another classic about Antarctic exploration is The Worst Journey in the World by Apsley Cherry-Gerard, a first hand account of Scott’s ill-fated expedition.
You might like Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson. It’s a nonfiction about divers who discovered a previously unknown shipwreck off the coast of New Jersey that turned out to be a lost WWII German sub. It goes through the discovery and how they determined what it was. It’s a terrific book.
If you loved *Endurance* the other half of the story is very worth a read too: *The Lost Men: The Horrowing Saga of Shackleton’s Ross Sea Party* by Kelly Tyler-Lewis
