Hi! I've been on a little bit of a history kick lately and would love to find a nonfiction history of the colonies and what would become America. I'm not looking for anything too focused on a specific individual or year, but am open to really anything that looks at a stretch of history or an event between 1700 or so and the end of the Civil War. I'm most interested in about 1750 thru the War of 1812 but am super open to books that focus on the Civil War as well. I've heard good things about Alan Taylor's American Colonies and Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose an am curious if you guys have any thoughts or experiences with those. Bonus points for anything short and fun to read!
