I read a lot of the books of Karin Slaughter, and although I like the crime/detective aspect of the books, I don't like reading all the details of a murder/torture.

I read 'the survivors' by Jane Harper, and I liked it a lot. Also 'de camino' by Anya Niewierra (Dutch book)
    So, what can you recommend?

    1. Seishi Yokomizo has a series of books from post war era japan that are just recently being translated to English. They follow the adventures of detective Kosuke Kindaichi. Damn fine mystery novels and not specifically greusome.
