I used to be an avid reader and then somewhere along the lines I stopped. I haven’t been able to get back into it even though I really genuinely want to, so I guess my question is what would be a good book to throw somebody back into reading books again? Genres remember liking were sci-fi romance, mystery murder mystery, or fantasy.

I just finished The Tainted Cup by by Robert Jackson Bennett, and you should definitely check it out! It is a murder mystery/fantasy book, and the two main characters are very much inspired by Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

I have a book suggestion if you like graphic novels. It’s called monstress. It’s a book set in a dark fantasy. It has 9 volumes and 2 books. I think there will be a 3rd book

Here’s some info about the book

Monstress is a captivating graphic novel series that follows the journey of Maika Halfwolf, a young Arcanic woman caught in a world of political intrigue, magic, and ancient secrets.

      The main storyline revolves around:

      * Maika’s quest for revenge: After witnessing the tragic death of her mother during a war between humans and Arcanics, Maika seeks to avenge her mother and uncover the truth behind the conflict.

      * The mysterious monster within her: Maika shares a powerful psychic connection with a monstrous entity that emerges from her severed arm. This connection grants her incredible abilities but also poses a significant threat to her control.

      * The war between humans and Arcanics: The story is set against the backdrop of a tumultuous war between the human Federation and the Arcanics, magical creatures who often resemble humans.

      * Unveiling ancient secrets: As Maika delves deeper into the conflict, she begins to uncover ancient secrets about her family, the origins of the war, and the true nature of the monstrous entity within her.
Throughout the series, Maika navigates a complex world filled with political machinations, powerful sorceresses, and dangerous enemies. Her journey is marked by personal growth, self-discovery, and the struggle to balance her own desires with the greater good.

    3. If you like anime esc storytelling I recommend Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson, or any of his books really. They’re my favorites 🙂
