Hey! Well, this is quite the specific request.
I’ve read this bizarre conspiracy theory where the uncanny valley supposedly is a defense mechanism against predatory humanoid beings that looked human but lacked something, thus, looked off.
Of course this mythos is false and the actual reason is either neanderthals or cadavers, but I can’t stop thinking about how this is an awesome premise to a book – Maybe these beings are still infiltrated among modern society after evolving to hide better? Maybe they are an ancient evil? Many ideas to explore there.
Does anyone know a book like that?
